Credit Card Preauthorization - Our store conducts a pre-authorization on your payment method when you place your order. Funds are only collected once the order ships.
A pre-authorization is a temporary hold of funds placed on your credit card which reserves funds for a future payment transaction. This hold typically lasts about five days, though this depends on your MCC (merchant classification code).
During the hold period, the funds are unavailable to you – you won’t be able to withdraw it from an ATM, or to spend it elsewhere. Although the funds cannot be accessed in your account, no money has been debited in the pre-authorization, it is simply reserved. When the time comes to finalize a payment – once we ship your items – the funds on hold will then be “captured”, meaning they are converted to a charge.
